Dr. Jivraj Mehta Smarak Health Foundation has been established to commemorate the distinguished services of Dr. Jivraj Mehta, to the nation, in the fields of medical education, administration, services and research.
The foundation is engaged in clinical, laboratory and community field research, encompassing urban, especially urban slum and rural population of Gujarat. The emphasis for research has been to identify & investigate in depth the health problems of community, with emphasis on cardio-respiratory and other disorders, with a view to prevent and also to study the means and methods for their aliviation.
About us
Dr. Jivraj Mehta Smarak Health Foundation, established this Medical Research Centre to commemorate the distinguished services of Dr. Jivraj Mehta, the first chief minister of Gujarat(India), in the fields of medical services. The established of the foundation, has been entirely the brain child of its founder president Shri Ratubhai Adani. It was because of his determination to bring his dream come true, and because of his undaunted efforts, that this foundation and its medical research centre, could come into existence through the benevolent donations from philanthropists.
The institute was commissioned on 2nd October 1989. The institute now provides for the services of over 100 honorary consultants in almost all the specialities and superspecialities of medicine.In addition to services of honorary consultants, the institution has a component of fulltime medical officers, resident medical officers, post graduate medical officers, full time and part specialists for 24 hours patient care services, including emergency services through its Emergency department, manned by well qualified casualty medical officers.

Dr. Jivraj Mehta Hospital is a 202 Bed Multi-Speciality Hospital, offering almost all major Medical Services. The Hospital has OPD and over 150 Doctors provide honorarium services. The 202 Bed Facility includes Centrally AC General Ward, Semi-Special Ward (AC and non-AC), Special Ward (AC and non-AC), Deluxe Ward and Super Deluxe Wards. The Hospital has a full-fledged Emergency Department, ICU facility, Radiology Department, Pathology Department, Kidney Dialysis, Health Check Up Department, Blood Bank, Physiotherapy Department etc. We have 4 Ultra Modern Operation Theatres where major surgeries including Joint Replacement, Kidney Transplant, Onco Surgery, Trauma, Urology etc are carried out.
